Growing up as we journey

This time of year between winter and spring can feel like a cross between hibernation and spring activity. If life is a journey, now is a time when we have created a settled home but know that we must prepare for the next leg of our journey.

Churches often run special courses in Lent, which starts in three weeks, to help us understand a bit more about what the Christian message is. We don't have to wait for Lent and here in Steep we started a ten week study called Christ in us Today. In itself it is a journey as we explore how we believe, but also how others believe. This involves developing understanding of words as well as activities, because we can often use either different words or mean different things by the same word when we are speaking about our faith.

What are you doing or preparing to do to develop your understanding? In Luke's gospel it says, "Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favour with God and people." Are we growing up like him?

Copies of Christ in us Today can be downloaded free from www.christiansawakening.org or printed copies £2 each from:
