Questions and Answers

We all spend our lives avoiding the BIG questions i.e. what is life all about, what is love, is there life after death? You won't find the answer to any of these on web sites, (even this one) or on the television. Sometimes after a few beers it might be discussed down the pub, but the result is usually more smoke and heat than light.

Why is this? Is it because no-one knows the answers, or because we might find the answers uncomfortable, or because we don't want the answers to change our comfortable lives?

Jesus Christ claimed to be the Son of God and said He had the answers to all these big questions. He also said that if you asked him he would give you the answers, like: God is love, Jesus himself is the way, the truth, and the life. Death is not the end. He verified these claims to his followers by rising from the dead three days after the Romans executed him.

Science is no help here, it asks the question how, and not what does it mean. It only deals with measurable and repeatable things, for a one off event like that it has nothing to say.

In a cynical world we have come to question most of the promises people proclaim. So don't believe what I write. Look into Jesus and his life for yourself; try reading the New Testament of the Bible. Ask someone who is living for Jesus, has their life a quality you lack?

Either what He said is true, and He really does have the answer to life's questions, or He is mistaken and you have to look elsewhere. You must decide. Whatever you do don't ignore the questions; they will catch up with you in the end.

Don't forget - during November put your green Waitrose tokens into the Christmas Day Lunch container.
