Accept Change and Make a Difference

Like many youngsters, my teenager Granddaughter is packing her bags, ready to leave home. With her exams all but finished, she aims to travel 1600 miles in order to find the job of her dreams – to be a dog trainer for the disabled – she wants to make a difference.

Last year, university was the expected ‘next step’ but upon being told that experience and a love for animals were wanted, not degrees, she changed her plans.

When Jesus asked his Disciples to follow Him, they each first had to embrace change and left their respective jobs and families in order to answer His call. They learned a new way of living and became Healers in the name of Christ. They made a difference then, they still are today.

During the next few months, many families will experience change. Some youngsters will leave home for their own adventures, I wish God speed to you all, enjoy, see and learn - but most of all - wherever you go, leave a positive piece of you behind; a smile, a helping hand, something you will be remembered by for many years to come – make a difference: and for the families left behind, huge congratulations on a job well done. Your youngster has grown up and is flying the nest ready to face the world courtesy of your love and encouragement. I hope you all hear the quiet voice of God saying “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

Knit and Knatter will be held at Herne Farm Leisure Centre on Wednesday 11 July from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm
