Remembrance Service in the Square, Sunday 11 November 2012
The Remembrance Service was lead by the Rev'd Will Hughes, the vicar of St Peters. Speaking in the Petersfield Post before the service he said "I think the emotional attachment people have to Remembrance Sunday and services has grown over the last 20 years, and that is why the crowds are so big at these services every year.
"People are more aware of its importance and it is now taken much more seriously. Remembrance Sunday is when we remember the past, in order to honour the sacrifice of those who gave everything to shape it, and to ensure, as much as in our power, that it is never allowed to happen again."
The bugler was Lucy Humphris, a student at Churcher's College.
Brilliant sunshire blessed the day and there was a good turn-out for the service.
